Before we get to the excerpts, a brief disclaimer is needed (yes, even authors and citizen groups sometimes need disclaimers in our lawsuit happy society).

Whiplash! author, James Percelay, makes no apologies for the fact that the humor in his book comes shamelessly at the expense of those who have filed ridiculous lawsuits. In the interest of sparing those plaintiffs (or, as popular radio personality Paul Harvey would say, those "sewers") any further embarrassment, their names have been graciously changed.
